Heerema Marine Contractor is awarded by TAQA Group (UK) to provide EPRD (Engineering, Preparations, Removal, and Disposal) contract of topside and jacket for its Brae Bravo platform located in Brae Field, offshore UK in the North Sea.

Simu Engineers bv is providing structural analysis for the main jacket removal which the dry weight is approximately 22,000mT. The main jacket structure (right on Figure below) has 8 legs and is secured to the seabed by 32 skirt piles that are grouted to the jacket structure. The main jacket is installed in 99.5 m water depth. The upper section of the jacket will be removed in one section by SSCV Sleipnir and the lower section will be left in situ.

The engineering deliverables include numerous cutting stage analysis with topside load fully present, partially present and against various environmental condition scenarios for operation for SSCV Sleipnir. Redundancy analysis and fatigue analysis also performed due to the fact that the jacket will be left at situ with less legs which are pre-cut during the topside removal campaign.
