Heerema Marine Contractor – Murchison field decommissioning
Murchison is one of the biggest steel jacket platforms in the North Sea, with its topside weighing 24,500 mT which consists of 26 modules. CNR has rewarded the removal contract to Heerema to perform engineering, preparation, removal and disposal (EPRD) of the topside and jacket structure down to the top of the piles. The topsides will be removed by heavy lift reverse installation, and the jacket will be split in three sections of which a top section and two vertical split lower sections.
The topside consists of 26 separate modules, which need to analysed both in lifting and transport situations by using software SACS. Furthermore, preparation works like lift-off guides, bumpers, spreader bars, riggings and seafastenings are all within the scope of work.
