Mammoet –10,000 [Te] jacking system
To compete with other companies, for instance Ale’s 5.000 [Te] jacking system, Mammoet Solution decided to do a feasibility study for a 10.000 [Te] jacking system. Four large 2.500 [Te] hydraulic cylinders are used to lift the load up to a height of 30 [m]. All the steel is grade S690 to bear the high loads and to minimize transport costs. The system will mainly be used to lift offshore jackets and can be skidded over a rail above a transport frame. The feasibility study includes detail design and optimization of weld preparations to minimize costs. The corner barrels and bracing are analysed by using FEM software to optimize the cost. Goals are to minimize weight of the entire structure, optimize fabrication and to make the structure transportable in standard 20 feet and 40 feet containers.
