Mammoet Solutions – PTC140-200DS

To verify the strength and stability of the Mammoet´s new heavy lift crane various sub models were created. To verify the stability of the mast sections non-linear calculations were performed. For several components plate models were made to optimize plate thicknesses and check the stresses. In addition to various structural analyses, a sensitivity analysis of the PTC under earthquake conditions was performed to determine the maximum allowable accelerations and identify hotspots in the construction. This lead to an advise for several components in the PTC to optimize its performance in earthquake sensitive areas.
